Steps

  1. Add salt and a drizzle of olive oil to a pot of water

  2. Bring water to a boil.

  3. Gently add pasta to boiling water.

  4. Stir pasta gently once to prevent sticking.

  5. Cook pasta for 4 minutes.

  6. Once cooked, drain the pasta or ladle pasta into sauce.

Notes

  • Fresh pasta takes considerably less time to cook than dry.

  • The size/ thickness of pasta varies the cooking time.

  • An electric stove can vary the cooking time.

  • Taste test for readiness. Pasta should be al dente.

  • Al dente pasta should be firm to the bite but still tender. If there is slight resistance when you bit into it, it is likely al dente.
